Shortcake Crust
I've been putting off making different crusts for too long. Hopefully this crust gets me on the right track of trying out new things and learning how to improve them. My shortcake crust did come out real well, but I needed more for my pie plate. It's probably enough dough for your standard pie tin, and next time I'll be sure to make a little more. This crust is great though, it's flaky which is always nice and has a great texture to it. Tomorrow I'll be showing you what pie I made this crust for.
Combine your flour, sugar, salt, and cooking oil in a bowl and mix slowly. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
As it's mixing add your 2 tbsp milk.
Once it's all crumbly like you see above knead it together.
Get your pie plate and press your dough all along the inside of it.
Bake until it just begins to brown. It will probably be around 15 minutes.
Come back tomorrow and see what I put in it.
