Bourbon Peach Pie
I had a request from my friends at When You Awake to make a country themed pie, for their country themed website. Of course I agreed to their request and found this Bourbon Peach Pie recipe. This is a deep dish pie recipe and luckily I was given a free Emile Henry deep dish pie pan when I participated in the Amateur Pie Competition a few weeks ago. This pie isn't too difficult to make, but do make sure you have a skillet large enough to contain your liquid mixture and your peaches. I did have some overflow which I need to clean up now, but the filling still came out well. So grab your pie baking tools and get to it.
Grab and measure out your cream, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and bourbon.
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Add your dry ingredients together in a bowl.
Mix your dry ingredients together well.
Melt your butter in a skillet at medium heat.
Add your peaches.
Spread your dry ingredients over your peaches
Mix your peaches around.
Add your cream.
Mix together to coat all your peaches.
When it starts to boil add your bourbon.
Boil for 20 minutes.
Grab your crusts.
After 20 minutes dump your peach mixture into your deep dish pie shell.
Carefully place your top crust over your pie filling.
Press your crusts together to seal in your peaches.
Vent however you'd like.
Brush the top with milk.
Sprinkle your sugar over pie.
Bake in the oven for 45 minutes. Allow to cool and serve.
