Trail Mix Pie
Living in Los Angeles I spend a lot of time sitting in traffic. Usually I'm rocking out, but one day I got to thinking about pie and I thought up this gem. If pecan pies are so good, why wouldn't the same pie with trial mix instead of pecans, be good. I went ahead and gave it a try, and it came out great. So next time your craving a nut pie give this guy a try.
Any kind of trail mix will do.
It's a similar reicpe to most pecan pies except with trail mix instead. Mix your eggs and sugar together.
Add your corn syrup and mix together well.
Mix thoroughly. Prebake your oven to 400°F.
Add your whiskey. This part is optional.
Add your vanilla and mix one last time.
Add your melted butter.
Grab your partially prebaked crust, your mixed filling, and your trail mix.
Spread your trail mix in your pie crust.
Pour your filling over your trail mix.
Place in the oven and bake for an hour. Reduce the temperature to 375°F for the last half hour.
Test if it's done by sticking a knife into your pie and if it comes out clean it's done. Also keep an eye on the crust, don't let it burn. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving.
This pie was really really good. Try it out. You'll love it.
