Lattice Crust
Here's how you roll and lay out a lattice crust. The pie you see below is an FC Barcelona themed pie which accounts for the blue and red dough. You'll only need a single crust for at least 8 strips of dough. Once you understand how the lattice forms play around with different amounts of strips. Tomorrow's pie will have a lattice crust, so check that out.
Roll out your dough.
From one the recipe for a single crust roll out and put 8 strips of dough.
I rolled out two crusts with blue and red food dye in a failed FC Barcelona themed pie.
Get your 8 strips of pie dough and grab your pie.
First lay down 5 strips like the blue strips above. Then fold back the 2nd and 4th strips, lay down another strip where the red strip is, fold strips 2 and 4 back over the perpendicular strip, and fold back strips 1, 3, & 5.
Lay another strip (red) over strips 2 and 4 (blue). Fold strips 1, 3, & 5 back.
Do the same thing on the other side. Fold back strips 1, 3, & 5.
Lay a strip over that.
Fold strips 1, 3, & 5 back.
Press the edges together, and that's how you lay down a lattice crust. If you follow the pattern you can add more strips.
