Prebake

Here is how to partially or fully preheat your pie crust:

Preheat

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

Preheat

Place your crust in your freezer for 15 minutes.

Remove your crust from the freezer.

Grab some aluminum foil and layer the bottom of your pie shell. Leave some over hang to easily remove later. Pour in some beans to act as the pie filling.

Place in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes remove the aluminum foil and beans.

Prick, or “dock”, the bottom of your pie crust with a fork and slightly twist to create vents. Bake for another 10-12 minutes for a partially baked crust or 15-17 minutes for a fully baked crust.

Once it's removed from the oven, you're ready for your filling.
